Join thousands of unemployed workers and faith, labor and community activists Dec. 8 in an interfaith prayer vigil on Capitol Hill. Unless Congress acts, lifeline aid for nearly 2 million jobless workers will be cut off Dec. 31 when extended unemployment insurance benefits expire.
Over the course of 2012, an estimated 6 million jobless workers will lose these essential benefits if Congress continues to focus on keeping tax cuts for the 1% rather than helping the 99%.
As we meet in Washington, D.C., coalitions of jobless workers and concerned community members will hold prayer actions and press conferences in congressional district offices across the country.
Join us to support jobless workers and to urge Congress
to extend unemployment aid now.
